Help! My Prom Date is Shorter than Me!

Couples are often self-conscious if the guy is shorter than the girl.  This isn't as big a deal as it may seem.  A huge word of advice is to never say no to a guy for a prom date solely based on his height.  Just because you are either taller than him or just about the same height doesn't mean that you are going to have any less fun!  Plus, there are plenty of ways to make it less noticeable.  Here are some tips if you are concerned about this:

Don't wear high heels!  Try to get as low heels as possible to wear with your prom dress.  There are a lot of really cute flats you can try out with your dress, including ballet slippers and fancy flip-flops.  The added bonus is you will be really comfortable, be able to dance the night away, and have fun--that's the point, right?

When choosing a prom hairstyle for your prom dress don't pick one that sits on top of your head or adds inches to your height.  Try wearing your hair down or in more of a flowy do.  Look through prom magazines for great ideas for prom hairstyles to go with your dress.

Experiment with your pictures poses.  If you go in without any ideas the photographers are most likely just going to put you in  a pose that isn't going to help, but add to the height issue.  The most common solution is to put your weight on your back foot.  Just experiment and have fun with it!
